My Research
My primary research interests are in the areas of platforms, tools and protocols for management of distributed systems, and identity and security management related to the communication networks.  I am exploring the issues related to architecture and implementation of “Federated Network Identity” for enterprise users. A user carries multiple identities and related credentials for different domains and applications. Our goal is to use these identities and associated credentials transparently to achieve following objectives: secure and authorized access of any application from anywhere using any device by any (authentication and access) method.
Projects
In the network management area, I am collaborating with Avaya product group on the realization of the NETCONF protocol based management interface for Avaya’s network devices. I am also implementing the next generation capabilities, such as J2EE-JCA complaint connector for of SNMP, for the Secure Service Delivery platform (SSDP). The SSDP is a J2EE-based Operations Support System (OSS) platform for remote management of customer networks.

In the Identity management area, I am leading the projects related to federated identity for the management of web-centric computing infrastructure and proxy signature based delegated access and attribute certificate based distributed authorization enforcement.
I am also leading the project related to the implementation of the smart card interfaces for EAP-SIM and WLAN-SIM specification in order to use single network identity for both GSM and 802.1x security protocols.

In the security management area, I am collaborating on the PKI based extension for Avaya’s license management system, called WebLM. I am also collaborating on the reference implementation of open-source based managed PKI service for key distribution and as well as unified authentication architecture for Avaya products and services.
Publications
I have presented a paper on the Federated Identity for the Management of Web-Centric Computing Infrastructure, presented at the IM 2005Application Session 1, May 15-19, 2005, Nice, France.
