Research Scientist

"I have always enjoyed working on the entire evolution of prototype systems employing acoustic signal processing algorithms: from problem definition to research and proof-of-concept all the way to real-time implementation."
Research
I received my doctorate degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Professor Walter Kellermann in January 2006.
My research interests have been focusing on the area of acoustic signal processing.  In particular, I have been working on the advancement of hands-free human-machine interfaces in terms of superior sound capture and acoustic source localization using microphone arrays, as well as decomposition and reproduction of spatial sound fields.
Projects
I am researching and prototyping several new paradigms that will help to improve the acoustical performance of future voice communication systems.
